UPCOMING EVENTS

Project Hawai‘i Back to School Drive

Join us Friday, July 24th between 4-7 PM at Food Truck Friday at the Makalapua Center (old K-Mart parking lot) where we will be collecting school supplies for Project Hawai‘i. Find us at our 365 Hawai‘i Island Community Fund booth to drop off your donations. We regularly support Project Hawai‘i’s efforts to help disadvantaged keiki on the island and appreciate anything you can contribute. Mahalo for your kōkua, and we look forward to seeing you!

INITIATIVES

Race for the Reef

On April 25th, we hosted the 4th Annual 5k Race for the Reef at HOST Park. It was a smashing success with about 160 runners and walkers participating! The event provided an opportunity for participants to come together to support marine conservation while also learning from local non-profits and organizations engaged in this work.

We are already looking ahead to next year and are tentatively planning the 5th Annual Race for the Reef. We all agree that slightly cooler temperatures will make our racers happy - stay tuned! We will share more in future updates as the 2027 race plans develop.

Together, we raised $8,000 with this year’s race! These donations were split evenly between ReefTeach (The Kohala Center), ʻĀkoʻakoʻa Reef Restoration, and Ocean Defender’s Alliance. 365 Hawai‘i Island Community Fund hosted a check presentation gathering on June 17th and enjoyed a celebration with onolicious food and excellent conversation. Mahalo nui loa to all participants who made this fundraiser so impactful!

HELP WANTED!

Help us with Ironman

365 Hawai‘i Island Community Fund will be assisting with this year’s Ironman World Championship again this year. The race will be held on October 10th. We run the hospitality station that supports all the volunteers helping with the event. We need 10 volunteers to fill shifts throughout the day of the race. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact our 365 Ironman Team Lead, Michael O’Connor at mikeoc@365hicf.org. Mahalo for helping us out!

The 365 Hawaiʻi Island Community Fund builds strategic partnerships with local nonprofits and community groups to strengthen and support Hawaiʻi Island. We connect volunteers with organizations in need, amplify outreach through community events, and create new opportunities for civic engagement and collaboration across the island.
